I am Anand Masurkar and I am a computer programmer. To get into context for this article I would love you all to ask yourself a very important question, Are you really who you want to be

If not then why is that? Is it that you are not capable of something? I probably don't think so. Do you lack resources? I doubt that. Then what is it?

What if you could really be the way you want to be. It can be anything from being a computer programmer like me or being a doctor, an entrepreneur, an artist, dancer, musician or have amazing fitness. Then what actually stops you from being the person you want to be?

One of the thing that may cause this is the uncertainty of how to approach it and the major one is what if you fail, fear of failure. But if you think a little bit more, if you don't fail there is no way you can learn. And if you don't learn, there is no way to be successful in what you want to achieve. Moreover, experience does not come from how many years you are in the field, it comes from how many times you failed and got right back up.

Now, there might be various ways on how you can be the person you wish to be. I want to share my personal way. It helped me to always be in perspective with how I want to be and who I want to be.

  1. Spend some time to ask the right questions to yourself.
  • What do you want to achieve in life?
  • Who do you want to be?
  • What do you really want?

Allowing yourself to answer these questions in a concise, unambiguous manner will allow you to frame clear thoughts in your mind to align with who you want to actually be. There is only one thing that stops from being who you are and who you want to be is you. The moment you decide and set your mind to a particular thing everything will start to change.

  1. Action Plan.
  • When you know who you want to be or how you want to be in life, you most likely know what might get you there. But you may lack complete knowledge or you might be unaware of all the steps that you need to take.
  • You do not have to know everything instead you need a rough action plan which you think at the moment is best for you. Remember it might change along the way and get better if you are focused and stick to it.
  • Research is the key. The number of quality resources present on the internet today(for free) opens huge possibilities.

  1. Holding yourself accountable.
  • Holding yourself accountable is the key to this process. No one other than you is responsible for your actions. You can be more effective when you take responsibility for your actions.

  1. Consistency and Patience.
  • There will be a point where you feel there are no results and might want to quit following your action plan. Always remember how badly you want the thing you wish for yourself. Nothing can stop you from getting what you want, how you want to be and be happy.
  • Consistency and patience is the key and with gradual improvements, you will definitely see results. Focus on micro-actions more than the outcome.
